For details see Block Data Format. Block format:

```
Name (#numeric ID/data value)
minecraft:EnglishID
```

Taking smooth stone as an example, it includes the English ID:`smooth_stone`, and the numeric ID:`43:8`.

Older versions use**numeric IDs**mainly, which can still be used in new versions; but blocks added in new versions only have English IDs.

And then using WorldEdit will be a bit easier for you.

#### The following WorldEdit commands are some commonly used during building<br>

1. `//set <Block ID>`, set the entire selection to that block. If the blocks to change are more than one type, you can separate them with`,`a separator. For example`//set <block1>,<block2>`.&#x20;
2. Continuing, you can further adjust the proportions of the blocks. For example`//set 80%<block1>,20%<block2>`.
3. `//replace [block1] <block2>`, replace block1 in the selection with block2.
4. Both the blocks to replace and the blocks being replaced also support`,`changing to multiple ones.&#x20;

> E.g. `//replace <blockA>,<blockB> 80%<block1>,20%<block2>`.

6. `//stack <number>`, stack the entire selection n times in the direction you are looking.&#x20;
7. `//undo`can undo the previous operation,`//redo`is redo.
